As I mentioned earlier in the week, we were going to be jolting some caffeinated writings your way throughout this #InternationalCoffeeWeek… so what could be better, than a little review of a great coffee spot right on The Miracle Mile!
Now we know all of you little snowbirds will be making your way down South over the coming months, to escape the intrepid freezing cold temps that loom on winters horizon… so you will have plenty of fabulous Y reviewed spots to stop into and indulge!
Just the other day as I was investigating the neighborhood, I realized I had never been into this darling little coffee joint, called CREMA Gourmet Espresso Bar.
cre·ma ˈkrema/ noun
a brownish foam that forms on the top of freshly made espresso.
In case you were wondering CREMA, is the romantic languages way of saying cream… whether you are speaking in Spanish or Italian, CREMA signifies the brownish foam that forms over freshly brewed espresso… But in this case this is the place where you can sip it, piping hot and freshly made.
The instant you step foot into ‘Crema’ the aromatic wave of brewing Espresso will overwhelm you… based in the heart of South Beach and a sister local in Coral Gables, this new cafe ‘IT’ spot, will give you the sensation of transporting your sipping to a cafe in Brooklyn or even San Fran!
With its distressed wood clad coffee bar and fresh baked pastries, they know the market well… They even provide guests with a juice bar and sandwich station in case your tummy starts to rumble! They also proudly serve Ily Coffee, which for connoisseurs of coffee is always a favorite and not always easy to pin down, which coffee bars in your area use the brand, which was founded by Francesco Illy in 1933, specializing on the production of espresso!
One of my favorite things about this coffee bar is that, it gives you that feeling of down right neighborhood exclusivity, but they are open 7 days a week and into the evening, which is a huge plus! I have yet to figure out why these cute coffee spots in the Southeast don’t stay open into the evening, I know South Florida has a reputation for being a party town, but there are some folks like myself who like to sit, read a little book and have a cup of tea and I love when quaint spots pop up that are providing that!
Now I haven’t tried them yet… but they have Pancakes… Yes, you read right, Pancakes! What Y doesn’t love Pancakes, I mean Really?
The day I have one of my guinea pigs try them, I will let you know how rich and fabulous they taste, but until then, go check them out for yourself and let us know what you think!
