Oh Fall, How We Have Missed YOU! For gosh sake… We have missed your spiced EVERYTHING, we have missed your recipes warming our souls, we have missed your crisp and yet sun- kissed weather and MOST of all, we have missed your Fashion!
The Y Life, caught up with fashion bloggers over at Bright Eyed x Bushy Tailed, a blog which is dedicated to fashion, beauty, and travel, all the while sharing their fashion journey with the world! Trends can be fun, but it’s timeless style that I’m after.
With her internationally classic perspective on Fashion, Bright Eyed x Bushy Tailed, realized that her generation has the responsibility to be global citizens, of linking fashion as an art form and writing into one… By “Showcasing how art and design touch each facet of our lives, from the clothes we wear, to the lip color we choose. It’s a means of self-expression and allows us to showcase our creativity in a different way. I’ve always believed that fashion shouldn’t be stressful; we should have fun with it!”
We too agree with Bright Eyed x Bushy Tailed, above all, fashion and beauty should be empowering, boosting confidence, and truly allowing you to present the best version of yourself to the world!
What is your favorite thing about FALL Fashion?
“Thank you so much for having me! I’m so excited to talk about fall fashion on The Y Life because it actually happens to be my favorite season for fashion! The cooler weather allows you to layer different pieces, making it easy to combine different textures and experiment with proportions; for example a long sleeve silky blouse with a leather, A-line mini. And I feel like Autumnal weather allows you to play more with accessories- cue fabulous hat and boots.”
G & L are a bit obsessed with Fall, with good reason! What color should we be seeking out this Fall?
“In regards to fall colors I can’t help but be partial to the classic ‘CAMEL’. It instantly makes any ensemble look timeless, and can be paired with both traditional fall colors such as ‘Rust’ and ‘Cypress’, and unexpected fall colors, such as ‘Ink’ and ‘Teal’. This year Camel was seen all over the runways, from Michael Kors’s coats, to Prada’s suits, to Marco de Vincenzo’s matching sets.”
Are there any particular textiles and styles you saw create excitement on the runway, which will be making it on store shelves during pre- Autumn shopping?
“One textile that really stood out on the Fall 2015 runways that pairs well with the pattern of feminine dressing we saw this season is silk. Silk was featured on Chloe’s snakeskin dresses, Valentino’s bow blouses, and Dolce and Gabbana’s midi skirts. To capture this trend try Tibi’s silk full skirts, or Theory’s silky tie blouses.”
As we prep our Winter Closet … what is one Fall fashion MUST HAVE investment we can still use this Winter?
“The one item you must invest in for the fall and winter season is an elegant pair of ‘Black BOOTS’ that you can easily take from day to night. If you’re petite then go for a leather or patent leather mid-calf boot; if you’re tall go for a suede over-the-knee boot. An elegant pair of boots can be paired with jeans or a tweed skirt with a pea coat for an upscale day look, and for the evening, pair them with a short leather dress and a statement coat. They’ll be a classic, elegant, and truly timeless addition to your closet.”
