Just this weekend, I indulged in making one of my favorite little sweet snacks for my cousins engagement party… now I will say that although these little Pretzel creations are not difficult to make, they are time consuming, so make sure to set aside a few hours!
Pretzels, Chocolate and Toppings! Let’s face it, what could be more fun for the little ones, since they have all gone back to school by now? These little indulgences can be used as a fabulous addition to their lunch boxes, to give them a little boost of energy and a great BIG smile!
L’s Coco Pretzel’s were a hit within the realm of my little guinea pigs, both young and old, so I am certain your tasting squad will be just as pleased with them.
L’s Coco Pretzel’s…
What You Will Need:
1 Pack of Large Pretzels
YTip: Snyder’s of Hanover has a great selection of Large Hard Pretzels, which are perfect for topping and decorating!
1 12 oz. Package of Semi- Sweet Dark Chocolate Chips
1 12 oz. Package of White Chocolate Chips
3/4 Cup of Nuts, Minced (Walnuts and/or Almonds)
3/4 Cup Shaved Coconut
3/4 Cup Mini- Chocolate Chips
3/4 Cup Sprinkles of Your Choice
3/4 Cup Oreo Cookies, Smashed
First and foremost, begin to melt your Dark and White Chocolate chips upon double boilers until chocolates become silky and smooth…
Layer a baking sheet with Parchment Paper…
Once the Chocolate has begun to cool a bit, dip and Pretzels into Chocolate and with a small spatula remove excess chocolate…
… YTip: The main reason Y you should allow Chocolate to settle and cool before dipping your Pretzel, is that if the Chocolate is too hot, it will begin to destroy the Pretzel, which will not hold it’s consistency under certain temperatures and can even crack!
Dip Pretzels into Toppings & Sprinkle other toppings onto Chocolate covered pretzels… You can even drizzle White or Dark melted chocolate to top off your toppings for an extra bit of Pizzazz!
Once you are done decorating, Set Pretzels upon baking sheet… After filling the sheet, place pretzels on the cooking sheet in your refrigerator for about 30 Minutes, to Cool and Set…
Voilà your Coco Pretzel’s are ready to be eaten or set out on a dessert table!
One of my favorite parts about this dessert is that it’s easy, convenient and there are no dangers for moms if the little ones want to participate in the decorating! In fact, it’s actually a fun after school or weekend activity that will keep kids entertained and smiling!
