Not So Ordinary Fathers Day

Many people have their Father’s Day traditions which usually have something along the lines of a meal at a restaurant, maybe a beer and some good steak. While it is great fun, there are other ways to enjoy it and show your mom how much you appreciate her.

Father Flick Night

What is your dad’s favorite movie? What type of movies does he like? Set up a cool movie night. Buy his favorite movie snacks, set up a comfy area in your house to watch a flick or two. You can even cook for him before you guys pop in the movie. You’re not only giving him a movie night, but also letting him just relax .

Sport’s Dad Day

If your father is into sports, buy him some tickets for a  game you thing he’d like. It doesn’t have to be a game that lands on Father’s Day. Once you’re at the game treat him to some concession food. If you prefer to opt out of concession food, take him to eat at his favorite restaurant before the game. If you want to go a bit farther than that, get him some cool gear for the game and give it to him with the tickets.

Beach Day Daddy

Grab a picnic basket and some drinks (virgin or alcoholic) and head over to the beach with the family. If you’re not into the picnic basket thing, try finding a spot near restaurants and opt for the beach and a meal.   If you want to give a your dad a different experience, pick a water sport and do it together. You can rent a kayak for an hour for as low as  $15.

Dad Day-Tripping

Take a day trip with your pop. Choose a place you think she’d like and go. Now, it should be a place that is tops a few hours away. You do not want your dad’s whole day to be traveling.

No matter what you do, it’s about quality time with your dad and just enjoying something together.
