If you were as inspired by G’s article on Farmer’s Market’s yesterday as I was, and are looking for some great alternatives for some of the ingredients you picked up… Not to worry this article is for you!
When you live a life sans the presence of Gluten, eating classics like: Mac n’ Cheese, Pizza, Donuts, even Soy Sauce and anything and everything fried becomes a challenge. Somehow, someway almost everything in this world contains a little- bit of Gluten! So when I realized that I so missed eating one of my childhood favorites (Before I was GF), Green Fried Tomatoes, I put my brain in gear and started creating some alternatives to making Green Fried Tomatoes GF!
This recipe is for one Tomato, you can double the recipe for each Tomato you add!
L’s GF Green Fried Tomatoes:
1 Large Green Tomato
1/2 Cup ‘Bob’s Brown Rice Flour‘ (Any will work, Bob’s is my Fave!)
2 Tbsp. Italian Seasoning
1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Step By Step:
Slice Green Tomato in 1/4 Inches
Heat 3 Tbsp. of Extra Virgin Olive Oil at Med-High Heat
In a Bowl Sift Flour & Italian Seasoning
In another Bowl Whisk your Egg
Dip each Tomato Slice into Egg
Once Tomato soaked up Egg, Toss Tomato into Flour for a full coating
Place Flour coated Tomato on Frying Pan for 6 Minutes on each Side, or until browned
