If there is one thing we know to be true in life… Besides paying taxes of course, is Happiness.

But the Happiness The Y Life is referring to today, constitutes more of the happiness you get, when you indulge in caffeinated beverages!

I know this might sound like a silly post to some, but there is actually scientific evidence that caffeine actually does arouse ones sense of Happiness… Well sort of!

Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant of the methylxanthine class. As the world’s most consumed legal psychoactive drug. Explaining the effects of the caffeine substance goes a little bit like this… Caffeine works at reversibly blocking the action of adenosine on its receptor in the brain, consequently preventing the onset of drowsiness; Furthermore, Caffeine stimulates portions of the autonomic nervous system causing that reaction within the human body of improved performance!

For years scientists have known that coffee does actually stimulate the release of a neurotransmitter in the brain called, dopamine.

In case you don’t know what ‘Dopamine‘ is… it’s attributed to producing that sense of euphoria, you associate to the jolt you get from your cup of coffee! Drugs are known to cause that same sensation, because of the boost of brain cell activity the amphetamine and/or ecstasy type of drug creates… In turn, they act upon Dopamine in the brain.

In fact, this feeling is precisely Y coffee has  been an adequate explanation for Y caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance in the world!

So the Y is that… Caffeine makes us feel sooooo good, because it taps into virtually every reward system in our brain, it’s a chemical that takes over our brains.

Before you know it, it’s too late, and you have already sipped another cup, then another, then another…

Sweet Sipping!
