It’s Easter weekend yet again and it may feel like Easter 2015 was yesterday. Well it wasn’t but it came sooner than normal.
Easter always falls on the first Sunday after the full moon following the vernal equinox which usually falls on March 21st. This year that means Easter lands on March 27th.
But this is not the earliest Easter can be celebrated. The earliest Easter can actually occur is on March 22nd! The last time this happened was 1818. The next time it will happen will be in 2285. Wow.
Who decided this?
The Council of Nicea decided this back in 325 A.D. So, a while ago!
Now you know why the Easter bunny is early to the party this year. Don’t fret! Be polite and enjoy!
