Midweek and you are owning adulting! Good for you! Working, exercising, planning, organizing and all that.
Well there is always room for improvement, even here at The Y Life! One thing that is always up for improvement is our budget!
To help push you in the right direction, here are some tips for helping you save some extra cash during the work week. Whatever you decide to do with the extra doe is up to you!
Shop With A List
Whether you’re grocery shopping, furniture shopping or grabbing some new clothes, always go to the store with an idea of what you want. If it’s grocery shopping, make the list of what you need ahead of time and make a b-line for those items.
Plan Your Meals
To piggy back off the 1st option, while making your grocery list, plan your meals. This will help control your budget and eating habits a bit more. This is doubly great because this will help you stay healthy while also giving you back some green. The weekends are better for eating out anyways!
Whatever you are in need of, try to look for sales. If there is no sale, shop Amazon or ebay. You can search for hundreds of new or used items. It’s also a great way to save time instead of rushing to the store after work.
Limit Your Outings
You can still be a social butterfly without breaking the bank. You can either limit your outings to the weekend or look for less expensive options. Look for happy hours or free events. You can also plan a wine night during the week where each of your friends brings something.
This requires a more introspective look. Think about what you need and what you don’t need. Be honest with yourself. Do you really need manicures every week? How about all those expensive dinners? And the dress in four colors? A more simple life means less baggage to carry. That includes items you may not need.
